Scarlett Johansson Wins Generation Award at the MTV Movie Awards

At the 2021 MTV Movie & TV Awards, Scarlett Johannsson was the recipient of one of the night's biggest honors.

While many may know her as the actress who plays Black Widow in the Avengers, Scarlett Johansson's career actually spans over two decades. She has not only starred as an action hero and Avenger, but she also had a career in Hollywood with more challenging projects such as The Horse Whisperer, Girl with a Pearl Earring, Her, and the more recent Marriage Story and Jojo Rabbit. Her earliest credits date back to the 1990s. In 2019, she joined an elite club by receiving two Academy Award nominations in the same year, thanks to her work in both Marriage Story and Jojo Rabbit. So it came as no surprise when she was announced as the winner of the 2021 Generation Award at the MTV Movie and TV Awards.

Her Generation Award clip included scenes from most of the films she's starred in, including scenes from the upcoming standalone film Black Widow, set to hit theaters July 9. She also had a visit from her husband Colin Jost who may have gotten award shows mixed up as he slimed Scarlett during her thank you speech thinking it was the Nickelodeon awards.

Johansson is in good company as other notable winners of the Generation Award include Jim Carrey, Tom Cruise, Johnny Depp, Jamie Foxx, Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, Will Smith, Reese Witherspoon, and her Avengers co-star Robert Downey Jr.
